JEFFERSON — Toledo High School freshman Kora Pettis ran the girls race and Boomer senior Boaz Simonds competed in the boys event Tuesday at the Jefferson Invitational cross-country meet at Jefferson High School.

Pettis completed the 5,000-meter course in 29 minutes 32 seconds to finish the girls race in 31st place. Simonds ran the boys race in 22:47 and finished 54th of 75 runners to complete the race.

Harrisburg was the girls team champion, and Santiam Christian claimed boys team medalist honors.

Toledo cross-country is scheduled to compete Tuesday, Oct. 5, at the Bigfoot Classic, at Rockaway Beach.
