WILSONVILLE — Both the Newport/Eddyville Charter and Taft High School programs fell out of the rankings when the Oregon School Activities Association on Monday released its second in-season boys soccer coaches polls.

The Newport/Eddyville girls slipped out of the rankings in the 4A girls soccer poll, released the following day.

The Cubs boys collected two losses and a tie since being ranked sixth in the poll release Sept. 13 by the OSAA.

The Taft boys, formerly ranked seventh in the previous 3A/2A/1A poll, played two scoreless draws and a earned a victory to begin the week 3-2-2 overall.

In the 4A girls soccer poll, Newport/Eddyville fell from the rankings after the Cubs were ninth in the previous poll. Newport/Eddyville snapped a three-match losing streak Tuesday with a 6-2 home victory over Cascade.

In the poll data listed here, team records were current as of the day the polls were released, and first-place votes are listed in parenthesis. The OSAA states it plans to update soccer coaches polls every other week throughout the regular season.

Coaches polls are intended to generate interest and are not considered for postseason tournament seeding.
