DALLAS — Thirty-one of 51 total swims by Newport Swim Team youth club athletes resulted in personal-best times at the nine-team Hugh Genualdi Invitational, held April 15 and 16 at the Dallas Aquatic Center.

Newport, which finished seventh in the combined girls and boys team standings with 218 points, received state championship-qualifying times from 9-year-old Zoey Chappell and 7-year-old Kenlie Ware. Chappell qualified with her time in the 50-yard backstroke, and Ware qualified in the 50 freestyle.
