WILSONVILLE — The Oregon School Activities Association announced on Tuesday results of the first in-season 4A coaches football poll.

Preseason No. 1 Marshfield retained the top spot in the poll after posting a 35-20 victory Sept. 3 at home against then-fourth-ranked Mazama. The Vikings dropped to sixth in this week’s poll.

Second-ranked Marist Catholic and No. 3 Banks kept their places in this week’s poll following victories last weekend, and Cascade jumped one spot, from fifth to fourth this week.

The lone new addition to this week’s poll is Seaside, which went from unranked to a tie for eighth with La Grande after the Seagulls put up 55-0 victory Sept. 3 at home against North Marion.

At 7 p.m. tonight (Friday), Seaside is scheduled to host Newport, which opened the season last weekend with a 48-13 loss at Tillamook.
