I first met Walter Chuck while he was advocating for recreational fishing and I was serving on the state Ocean Policy Advisory Council (OPAC). It was a number of years ago, and during the time that OPAC was conducting outreach to determine recommendations for a limited system of marine reserves in state waters, at the request of the governor's office.

It didn't take me long to realize that Walter's approach to issues was one of thoughtful and measured consideration. That approach to issues continued when he was elected as a Port of Newport commissioner and later when he served as a member and then chair of OPAC.

I have no doubt that if Walter is elected as a county commissioner, he will bring that same thoughtful and measured approach to the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners. That type of leadership and decision-making approach is needed at the county right now in order to address the challenges that lie ahead.

Please join me in voting for Walter Chuck for Lincoln County commissioner.
