It was disappointing to listen to the county commissioner's recent meeting. For two years, they ignored the problem and made excuses. Now, facing the citizen's referendum, they make a paltry effort to do something. Reduce the number of short-term rentals in the county by 12. Hardly impressive considering that I have seven licensed and three unlicensed within 600 feet of where I live.

They shuddered about the loss of tourist revenue. Have they been out on roads lately? I don't believe we have a shortage of tourists. They fear a lawsuit. Well then, why in the heck did they let it get to this point? Most of the owners of the short-term rentals do not live in the county areas being affected by them. Vote yes on Measure 21-203.
