In reference to Susan Painter’s letter to the editor last week about Mayor Sawyer’s legal issues (“Dean Sawyer: what ‘pending lawsuit?’” Sept. 24 edition), I believe she is missing some facts.

I have never heard that when an attorney tells a client to not speak about litigation that that advice expires when the case is dismissed. How does Ms. Painter know of any advice his attorney has given to him?

As far as any pending litigation involving the mayor, perhaps Ms. Painter has not considered that he may be a witness in litigation whereby his name would not be in a public legal data base.

Mayor Sawyer has worked very hard the past three years on our behalf and does not even get a salary for his many hours. Do not sign the recall petition and do not listen to Ms. Painter’s legal suppositions.
