Like Michael Edwards (“Response to Lincoln City approving project loans,” Sept. 3 letter to the editor), I, too, questioned the decision of the Lincoln City City Council to lend public funds to a religious entity (Congregational Church of Lincoln City) and not to another not-for-profit like Habitat for Humanity.

I would like to read a public explanation of why this decision was made.
