Steven Robert Baley

Steven R. Baley, 71, died unexpectedly on July 14th at his beloved home in El Cayacal, Mexico. Born on March 10th, 1950 to George & Sybil Baley, Steve grew up surfing the waves of Agate Beach. He later graduated from Newport High School class of 1968, voted Best Looking by his class. Following high school, he became a successful fisherman. He was well known for his sense of humor, his sharp shooting pool skills, his heart for adventure, and his love of Mexico.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother Fred Baley. Steve is survived by his brother Richard “Ohana” Baley, Hawaii, sister Susan (Danny) Pattison, Newport, his children Crissa, KaiLee, Jacob & Estaban Baley. He is also survived by grandchildren Aaron (Amber) Baley-Johnson, Niessa (Miles) Romero-Smith, Keeton (Hannah) Luther, Andre Munyan, Anthony & Kyleah Jefferson, Carter Baley as well as seven great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 pm on July 25th, at the Hall property up the Alsea (just before milepost 19). Those who wish to join in sharing memories, stories, or a good laugh are welcome.
