Helen “Jeanette” Kriz, March 7, 1931 - March 20, 2021

Robert Dale Kriz, March 26, 1929 - May 10, 2021

They both passed away peacefully in Ashland, Oregon.

Jeanette married Bob Kriz in Harrisburg on August 25, 1949 and made their first home in Broken Bow, Nebraska. Eight children soon followed as the couple moved between Nebraska and Oregon, finally landing in the Toledo area in 1956 where they raised their growing family.

Bob and Jeanette were active for many years in the Church of Christ in Toledo and Siletz. Always vivacious and good-natured they managed a household full of children, taking in extras if there was a need. They were loving and giving and valued helping others. Bob worked for PUD for over 30 years. Jeanette had a knack of seeing the positives in others, even as she could speak her mind, often with a bit of sarcastic humor. As the kids left home, she enjoyed crocheting, needlework, and most of all pouring and painting ceramics, even teaching classes out of their home for a time. In retirement they enjoyed thousands of happy miles exploring the western USA and Mexico in their various RV’s, making lots of good friends along the way. They eventually settled in Donna, TX but returned to Oregon to be closer to family in 2010.

They were preceded in death by their son Larry Kriz, daughter Linda Kriz, granddaughter Annette Haskell, brothers Ed Gilbert, David Gilbert, and Bill Gilbert.

They are survived by Sons: Mike (Merrick) Kriz of Toledo, Dana (Joan) Kriz of Chico, CA, Kevin Kriz, and Jack Kriz of Eugene, OR; daughters: Diana Brown of Casa Grande, Arizona and Gina Furness of Medford, OR; brothers: Jim (Daisy) Gilbert of Sutherlin, OR, Bob (Deena) Gilbert of Bend, OR and Sisters-in-Law: Pat Gilbert of Kennewick, WA and Bertie Gilbert of Oakridge, OR; 23 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
