Edith Branchfield, age 98, passed away on December 25, 2021. She was born on September 2nd, 1923 to Herman and Eleanor Dimmick Niebuhr near Williamsfield, Illinois. She attended Williamsfield High School and Western Illinois University. She married Edward Branchfield in 1946 and they moved to Medford, Oregon that year. They later resided in Salem and Eugene. They moved to the Oregon Coast on retirement.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Newport.

Survivors include sons Paul (wife Linda), of Roseburg, David, of Salem, Scott (wife Joyce) of Newport, and daughter Anne of Seattle. Her four grandsons are Aaland, Craig, Kurt, and Seann Branchfield. Three great grandchildren are Kourtney, Max, and Eva Branchfield. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, and brothers Paul, Donald and Weldon Niebuhr.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Newport, or to the charity of one’s choice.
