Donald Albin Butsch, 96, died on August 26. Born and raised in Mount Angel, Oregon, Donald married Robinette (Bobby) Amen in 1948. A hero of the “greatest generation”, Don served in both theaters of World War II in the 86th Infantry winning the Bronze Star. Don lived a life of service, practicing pharmacy for over 50 years, serving both City and State in numerous elected and appointed capacities. He was an able administrator, a practical deal maker, and an uncompromising defender of the good of his fellow man. Don and Bobby hosted foreign students, and raised 3 children to be giving, contributing and successful members of society. Don is now with Bobby who passed in 2004. For full obituary please visit
