Veterans Day service in Waldport

The Waldport Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3156 will hold a Veterans Day ceremony on at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 11

The service will take place at Veterans Park, located at Highway 34 and Broadway in Waldport. The program will be informal. Everyone is invited to come and honor all those who have worn this nation’s uniform.

Vietnam Veterans recognition planned

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4227 of Toledo (268 Pioneer Mountain Road) will host a Vietnam War Veterans welcome home recognition event from 5 to 7 p.m. on Veterans Day, Nov. 11.

Veterans who served during the period of Nov. 1, 1955 to May 15, 1975 will be presented with an official Vietnam War commemorative lapel pin.

Light refreshments and drinks will be served. All veterans and family members are invited to join in this event honoring local Vietnam Veterans and welcoming them home.

Honoring veterans in Lincoln City

The Lincoln City Elks Lodge will hold a special program to honor veterans on Thursday, Nov. 11 — Veterans Day.

The event will take place at 6 p.m. at the lodge, located at 1350 SE Oar St. in Lincoln City. This gathering is open to the public, and people are encouraged to attend and honor the veterans.

‘Morning with the Veterans’ in Siletz

The Siletz Valley Grange is hosting its fourth annual “Morning with the Veterans” event on Wednesday, Nov. 10, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Siletz Valley Grange Hall, 224 Gaither St. Baked goods, coffee, tea and juice will be provided and the public is invited. Admission for veterans is free, and a $3 donation is suggested for all others. Masks and social distancing are required. Questions can be directed to Michelle Schaffer, grange president, at 541-444-1023. The Siletz Valley Early College Academy Veterans Ceremony will begin at 1 p.m.
