The Oregon State University Extension Service Master Gardener program continues its series of free virtual monthly classes on Tuesday, June 8.

The Growing Oregon Gardeners: Level Up Series is being broadcast via Zoom webinar at 3 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month through November. The classes are free, but registration is required and can be done online at To make them accessible to those who cannot attend the live session, the classes are being be recorded and will be available on the website for anyone to watch.

The session on June 8 will be “Unique Winter Vegetables to Grow.” Take a deep dive into growing some of the more underappreciated winter vegetables, including cover garlic, radicchio, celeriac (celery root), Brussel sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, collards, winter squash and purple sprouting broccoli. Basic winter gardening techniques will also be covered.

On Tuesday, July 13, the topic will be “Fire-wise Landscaping.”
