Hundreds of local Christians and other pro-life persons, and many of their clergy, will line the sidewalks of Highway 101 from Florence to Astoria to form a “Life Chain” on Sunday, Oct. 3, from 1:30 to 3 p.m.
This stand of solidarity will proclaim that many local churches, and other pro-life persons, steadfastly oppose the killing of pre-born children, as well as the exploitation of their mothers, by the abortion industry.
Uniform signs, with pro-life messages, will be distributed to all who join the Life Chain.
Locally, participants will gather in front of Newport City Hall, 169 SW Coast Highway, a few minutes before 1:30 p.m. to pray together before lining the sidewalks along the highway to hold their signs and silently pray for an hour and a half. Families, singles and people of all ages are welcome. People are encouraged to bring a folding chair if it is difficult for them to stand.
