Abby Harris, Newport store manager, thanks customers and employees for their patience during the past four months while remodeling work was underway. This was Harris’s final day as manager in Newport — she is leaving to become manager at the Walmart in Bend.
The newly remodeled Newport Walmart store was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, April 14. Cutting the ribbon are three employees who have worked at the store since it first opened 30 years ago — in January 1993. Also during Friday’s ceremony, Walmart made community contributions to the Oregon Coast Aquarium ($2,000), the Lincoln County Children’s Advocacy Center ($2,000), Friends of Newport Parks and Recreation ($2,000) and the Lincoln County School District ($2,350).
