Fatal crash on Highway 20

A Eugene man died on Wednesday, May 13, when the Freightliner utility truck he was driving crashed on Highway 20 near milepost 15, just west of the Elk City Road.
Oregon State Police troopers and other emergency personnel responded to the single-vehicle crash at around 3:15 p.m. The truck, operated by Patrick Goddard, 23, was traveling east on Highway 20 when it left the roadway, went through a guardrail and landed upside down in a nearby waterway.
Goddard sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. A passenger, Jason Landry, 42, also of Eugene, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis.
OSP was assisted by the Oregon Department of Transportation, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Toledo Police Department, and Toledo Fire Department.
