The group behind the effort to legalize and regulate marijuana in Oregon is ponying up more than $2 million for television ads as it takes its case for Measure 91 to voters ahead of the November general election.
YES on 91, also known as New Approach Oregon, said this week the $2.3 million ad buy will help make the point that a better way to control marijuana is to “regulate, tax and legalize for adults 21 and older.”
The initial ad is a 56-second spot featuring Richard Harris, the former director of Addictions and Mental Health Services in Oregon.
He is billed as Oregon’s leading drug addiction expert having held the “highest position in the state for directing drug treatment and addiction programs.”
