LINCOLN CITY A lot will be different in the Taft High School athletic department this year. A new season, a new classification, and a new boss.

Kelly Hart is beginning her first full school year in charge of high school sports in Lincoln City, and its already a busy one. After taking over for Tim Dressler late in the spring, shes hitting the ground running.

I was assistant principal last year, and I have previous athletic director experience, Hart said. It was just a natural move into that job when Tim resigned.

Harts previous experience came as AD of Molalla High School, a 4A program.

I came into that job mid-year, kind of the same way I did last year, she said. Its always kind of crazy when youre transitioning in the middle of the year, trying to get things done. I think it was the craziest spring ever, so I got a lot of the scheduling, the budgeting, that kind of experience under my belt.
