Modified: Tuesday, Aug 5th, 2014

NEWPORT — A transient whose “retirement plan” was to get sent to prison could achieve his goal after getting arrested for allegedly breaking into a Newport residence.

Lennie Joe Fadness, 52, was taken into custody around midnight on Aug. 1 after he tried to reenter a home in the 400 block of NW 21st Street to retrieve his clothing because he was cold.

Fadness allegedly entered the residence while the homeowner was at work. He took a shower, and used the homeowner’s bed while inside the residence.
