NEWPORT — A Northern California man was arrested Monday morning after he led law enforcement authorities on a six-mile journey along Highway 101.
Robert Joseph Hopkins, of Concord, Calif., was allegedly driving a Nissan Titan at a high rate of speed on the highway about 4:30 a.m. Monday when an Oregon State Police trooper spotted the vehicle. The Nissan Titan was traveling about 96 mph at the time it was clocked by an electronic device, according to an OSP report.
