Toledo bringing final four city manager candidates to town

TOLEDO — Toledo is closing in on a permanent city manager, and interim Don Munkers is about to step out of the picture.

Munkers, a retired Burns city manager who came to Toledo through a consulting company, will be leaving town Thursday to address personal issues back home.

If the city is not able to bring a permanent manager in by early September, he said he will return to assist until someone “can come on board.”

Munkers had actually considered going for the permanent position until the personal matter arose.
