NEWPORT — A judge told one of four suspects in a staged robbery of an adult store he should “count his lucky stars” because he avoided a lengthy prison term for his role in the incident.
Brett Michael Betts, 27, of Lincoln City, pleaded guilty to one felony count of burglary in the second degree at a Thursday afternoon hearing in Lincoln County Circuit Court before Judge Thomas Branford.
As part of his plea deal, the Lincoln County District Attorney’s Office dismissed five other felony charges, and a misdemeanor count. Defense attorney Daniel Taylor represented Betts.
