TOLEDO — After a delay that put the project in jeopardy, the city of Toledo has finally received the permits it needs to get started on its Siletz River water intake project.

The project was awarded to Portland contractors 2KG for $1.8 million in early spring, but it was delayed by a National Marine Fisheries evaluation.

“All the permits are in our hand,” Interim City Manager Don Munkers said. “We’re off and running.”

He added that officials received a call late last week with the go ahead from National Marine Fisheries. The Corps of Engineers and county then “jumped right on it and got their part done.”
