Support for same-sex marriage is on the rise with nearly half of likely voters backing the issue.
A Rasmussen Reports poll released Wednesday showed 48 percent of voters now favor same-sex marriage. That was up from 45 percent in October.
A total of 41 percent said they oppose gay marriage, while 11 percent were undecided.
The national telephone survey of 1,000 likely voters was conducted July 13-14. The margin of error is plus or minus 3 percentage points with a 95 percent level of confidence.
