YACHATS — A resolution is imminent in the attempted murder case of a 37-year-old Yachats man, who allegedly stabbed his former girlfriend after breaking into her residence earlier this year.
Anthony Buccella faces a number of felonies in connection with the incident, including attempted murder, assault in the second degree, burglary in the first degree, and unlawful use of a weapon.
He also faces one felony count of criminal mischief, and misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief, and menacing. Buccella is being held on $500,000 bail at Lincoln County Jail, where he has remained since being arrested March 16.
Defense attorney Kathryn Benfield said Monday a “plea proposal” is done at this point, and a trial date would not be necessary in the case. She made her remarks at a hearing in Lincoln County Circuit Court before Judge Sheryl Bachart.
