TOLEDO — Shortly before Doug Nebert’s plane crashed in Toledo, the engine experienced a total loss of power, an alarm sounded and the aircraft’s electrical system failed, according to the lone survivor’s recount.
April Gleason’s tale of the accident was in the National Transportation Safety Board’s preliminary report released late last week.
Gleason, 34, of Seattle, told investigators that “the departure seemed normal and the pilot commented that the engine sounded the best (it) ever had” before the accident, according to the report, which also noted that she was heavily medicated during her recounting due to her injuries.
