'Flower lady' brightens Lincoln City

LINCOLN CITY — Jude Sargeant’s little bungalow on NW 14th Street sits high atop the pecking order of flowers in a town where the garden club is a power to be reckoned with.

“This town is all about flowers and gardens,” reflected Sargeant, whose beds and boxes explode with color every summer to the delight of neighbors and passersby, alike. “The flower shows are competitive, and the dahlias aren’t the only things on display. Egos can be very cultivated, too."
