The cities of Toledo and Newport recently announced that their annual water quality reports, also known as the consumer confidence reports, are now available for viewing by the public.
These yearly reports inform customers how the water quality compares to federal and state drinking water standards. They provide details on the water source and the quality of the drinking water, and the reports are required by the Oregon Health Administration.
There are options available to members of the public who want to view them.
For Toledo’s water quality report, go to online at www.cityoftoledo.org/docs/water.quality.report.2013.pdf Toledo residents can also request a printed version of the report by visiting city hall at 206 N Main St., or the Toledo Public Library at 173 NW 7th St. Water customers can also request a copy by contacting the public works office at 541-336-2247, ext. 2130, or by mailing a request to City Hall, PO Box 220, Toledo, OR 97391.
Newport’s water quality report can be viewed online at www.newportoregon.gov/dept/pwk/waterquality.asp Those who would like a paper copy of the report delivered to their residence are asked to call 541-265-7421.
