Sprague springs for mayor of Lincoln City

LINCOLN CITY The towns longest serving elected official submitted paperwork Tuesday at Lincoln City Hall to become its next mayor.

Five-term city councilor Roger Sprague, 77, a retired insurance company owner, said that if elected he will make the citys financial good health his priority.

I like the direction the city is going, said Sprague, who claimed the city is one of the few in Oregon whose books have been consistently in the black. I think weve made a tremendous number of accomplishments in the last three years Ive been on the council. Of all the times Ive been on the council, this term has been the most rewarding and enjoyable.
