Seal Rock steps into next phase of water improvements

SEAL ROCK ó Work on updates and improvements to Seal Rock Water District (SRWD) will continue with the help of United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development (USDA-RD) funding.

Seal Rock Water District received word last month that the districtís application for funds was approved. USDA-RD funding of about $6 million, including a $2.5 million grant award, will pay for several projects. Proposed improvements include replacing several thousand feet of aged water distribution pipe to eliminate undersized line and provide necessary system looping, installation of 36 fire hydrants in areas with insufficient coverage, and installation of two pressure reducing valves in a low elevation area with excessive distribution pressures.
