SILETZ — The Siletz City Council approved the city’s budget for 2014-15 Monday evening, increasing it slightly with the rise in water and sewer rates.
With no one from the public to speak during the public hearing portion of the meeting at city hall, the council adopted a $2.1 million total budget that is about $27,000 more than 2013-14’s, according to City Recorder Sheryl Simmons.
She noted that the water rate has gone up 6 percent, while the wastewater rate has increased by about 9 percent.
“We operate on water and sewer rates,” she added.
