NEWPORT — A lengthy psychological exam process has stymied progress in the case of a Newport man accused of allegedly kidnapping and attempting to rape an elementary school girl last December.
Lincoln County Circuit Court Judge Sheryl Bachart signed an order in late March authorizing a request from state prosecutors to have an evaluation performed on Jesse Greene, who stands accused of the crimes.
While the exam has apparently been completed, the findings have not made their way to the court.
“I have not seen a report,” said defense attorney Guy Greco at a June 2 hearing in circuit court for his client, Greene, who was not in attendance.
