TOLEDO — Two people were killed Saturday afternoon in a plane crash on the site of the Georgia-Pacific paper mill in Toledo.
According to Toledo Police, two passengers were pronounced dead at the scene, and a third person was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis via Life Flight.
The crash occurred around 4:20 p.m. when the small plane, taking off from Newport Airport, lost altitude and crashed into the parking lot of the mill.
The National Transportation Safety Board, Federal Aviation Administration and Toledo Police Department are investigating the incident.
