SEAL ROCK — A Pennsylvania man was identified Friday as a suspect in the disappearance of a Newport resident earlier this week in Seal Rock.

Donald Richard Lawyer III, 35, was arrested Thursday by Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies after he was linked to the disappearance of Michael Lanpheare, 37.

Lanpheare is believed to have gone missing earlier this week in an area near Seal Rock State Park. The search for Lanpheare is ongoing with an emphasis placed along the shoreline of Lincoln County, the sheriff’s office said.

Lawyer is being held on $300,000 bail at Lincoln County Jail. He is facing charges of manslaughter in the second degree and disorderly conduct, jail records show.
