WALDPORT — Volunteers took the first steps to tear down the Seashore Community Garden last weekend.

Plans to demolish all or part of the old Waldport middle school this month has prompted the move.

The Lincoln County School District is currently in negotiations with Seashore Family Literacy Center for the use of the gym and cafeteria at the old school.

“There are two scenarios with the contractor, to take down everything or to take down everything but the gym or the cafeteria. One of those two things is going to happen,” said Rich Belloni, the support services director for LCSD.
