Stormy weather forces cancellations of baseball, softball games

LINCOLN COUNTY Continuing wet conditions throughout western Oregon have cost a number of Lincoln County high school teams some playing time.

The Taft Tigers' scheduled baseball game against Colton today has been postponed, with a make-up date to be determined.

Toledo baseball's game against Glendale at Riddle High School, scheduled for a 1 p.m. first pitch today, has been canceled as well.

The Boomers' softball club has canceled its home softball contest against Gervais.

Taft softball will still be appearing at the Mac-Hi Tournament in Milton-Freewater today and Saturday, with first pitch for the opener of a doubleheader against McLoughlin scheduled for 4 p.m. today, with the nightcap to follow.

The News-Times will provide continued updates on high school sports cancellations and postponements.
