Tigers sweep Spring Break Classic -- Steere crushes walk-off homer in finale, combines with Zacarias for no-hitter

LINCOLN CITY — Three visiting baseball teams – Gervais, Amity and Toledo – all had one thing in common this weekend. They all lost to the Taft Tigers.

“I thought we played really well,” Tigers head coach Dusty Hankins said. “We took care of business.”

The hosts of Lincoln City’s Spring Break Classic were victorious in all three of their contests, taking out the Toledo Boomers on Saturday morning, 7-1, before hanging 12 runs in each of their final two games of the tournament, a 12-2 shelling of Gervais on Saturday afternoon and a 12-1 blowout against Amity on Sunday that saw Taft pitchers Seth Steere and Alroy Zacarias post a combined no-hitter, walking just three.
