Turmoil troubles Ukrainian

After slinging lattes all day at the Newport Starbucks, Natasha Szolomayer gathers her energy each night to explore dozens of domestic and foreign websites for the latest word on breaking news from her native Ukraine.


NEWPORT With a Russian strongman once again bearing down on her native Ukraine, Natasha Szolomayer is worried about the family she left behind for America.

Im not enjoying myself so much, said the 38-year-old Starbucks barista at the end of a hectic shift. Im worried about my family. Its really unstable over there, and theyre lost. They have no faith, and everybody is expecting war one of the ugliest, because they are all Slavic people who speak the same language.
