TOLEDO — With what Chief David Enyeart said will be a 30 percent budget cut, the Toledo Police Department is going through a big transition after the loss of its contract with the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians.
The $270,000 per-year contract covered training, vehicles and other operational costs for the department. In addition to giving Toledo more money, it also gave its police an expansion in jurisdiction that meant more calls and more officers.
