A 1979 Harley Davidson motorcycle, operated by Randy Becker, 65, of Seal Rock, was headed north on Highway 101 near SW Lee Street in Newport when Becker failed to stop soon enough to avoid hitting the rear end of a BMW SUV shortly after noon on Friday. The motorcycle punched a hole in the rear right fender of the vehicle and became wedged against the tailpipe, requiring the effort of four people to pull it free.
