NEWPORT — The Oregon Coast Aquarium said Monday it adopted a stranded sea otter pup.

Nuka, which means “little brother” in Inuit, was discovered on a beach in Kodiak, Alaska, last summer.

The pup was in some rough shape when found but has since been rehabbing, and is likely to join other members of the aquarium’s all-male raft (sea otter family) when he is ready.
