Huskies down Newport softball -- Cubs struggle at plate in opening day loss to Sweet Home

The Cubs softball club was eager to jump out of the gate and get their season going on Tuesday as they faced the Sweet Home Huskies in their opener at the Yaquina View Softball Complex.

Maybe a little too eager.

The Cubs had a variety of different ways to phrase the concept of “first game jitters” after their 3-0 loss to the Sweet Home Huskies.
