Sales of distilled spirits on the rise

DEPOE BAY — Fans of alcoholic beverages were apparently buying more of the good stuff in January, in turn pushing sales of distilled spirits well above year-ago levels in the Beaver State.

Dollar sales surged to $37.49 million in January from $35.29 million in January 2013, according to data released this month by the Oregon Liquor Control Commission.
