Going green at inaugural Nana’s Shamrock Run

NEWPORT — An army of green lined the intersection of NW 3rd and NW Coast streets Sunday for the inaugural Nana’s Shamrock Run.

With the Irish flag blowing in the wind next to Nana’s Irish Pub, costumed competitors took off from the starting line and rocked the pavement through Newport’s historic Nye Beach District. The 5K event attracted a total of 91 runners and walkers. Additionally, the Shamrock Run raised money in support of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Lincoln County.
