New health education center breaks ground

Dr. Richard Fox, who chaired the Center for Health Education Committee, digs the first shovel of dirt during last Friday’s groundbreaking ceremony for the future facility. Others include (left to right) Dr. Larry Mullins, president and CEO of Samaritan Health Services; Bonnie Saxton, chair of Pacific Communities Health District; Ursula Marinelli, director of Pacific Communities Health District Foundation; Linda Hilbride, former director of the foundation; and Dr. David Bigelow, CEO of Samaritan Pacific Health Services. Dr. David Bigelow, CEO for Samaritan Pacific Health Services, believes providing a resource such as the Center for Health Education is critical for patients with chronic illnesses and their health care providers.
