West Coast Construction has completed the repair of Old River Road just outside of Siletz. A major storm event in January 2012 caused a massive slide that damaged a section of that road. The washed-out section has been realigned away from the failing slope, and the roadway was secured with a pile wall tied back into existing bedrock. The work was started in July of this year and was substantially completed on time and slightly under budget, county officials said. The only remaining task on the project is lane striping, which is awaiting a break in the weather. For the complete article see the 11-08-2013 issue.
