Carmella Antoinette Becker, Joseph’s “little one”,passed away in their home on October 26th, 2013. Carmella was born to Michael & Mary Lefanto on June 13th, 1934 in Hoboken, NJ. She met the love of her life, Joseph,in Hoboken where they were married at St. Ann’s Church on September 19th, 1953. They then moved to Newport, Oregon and continued to reside there until her passing.

Carmella belonged to Sacred Heart Catholic Church,Dirty Dozen CB club and a bowling league Her greatest joys in life were being Joseph’s wife and motherhood. Carmella and Joseph had 12 children, which brought them great happiness. She loved playing with her children,grandchildren and great-grandchildren. One of her favorite games was “Spite & Malice”, which she always won. She enjoyed bowling and won several awards. When Carmella was not spending time with family and bowling she liked to do ceramics, crocheting, needle pointing and traveling with Joseph and the Dirty Dozen. She traveled to 28 states which included stops to The Grand Ol’ Opry,The Alamo, Mt. Rushmore, Niagra falls and one foreign country, Canada.

Carmella is survived by her beloved husband Joseph; children: Janet White of Newport,Mary Becker of Sunny Valley, Cynthia Eshleman of Siletz,Julia Davis of Fairmont, West Virginia, Marilyn Werder of Toledo, Michael Becker of McMinnville, Linda Munsil of Silverton, Lorraine Foley of Elk City, Charlotte Gerken of Silverton, Matthew Becker of Newport, Mark Becker of Winston and James Becker of Camas, Washington; 38 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.Rosary will be at Bateman’s Funeral Home in Newport at 7pm on November 4th, 2013.

Funeral services will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 11am on November 5th, 2013. Burial will follow at 12:30pm at Eureka cemetery. Arrangements are being entrusted to Bateman’s Funeral Home.
