The annual Gleneden Beach Fourth of July Parade, an old-fashioned Independence Day celebration, didn’t disappoint the large crowd of spectators that lined the streets for the 1 p.m. start on Thursday.

Now in its 19th year, this is billed as the “biggest small town parade” on the coast, and one of the oldest. Families come from far and wide to join the festivities, and for many, it is their destination for the Fourth of July weekend.
