The dog days of summer

Everything was going to the dogs in Lincoln City on Saturday as the annual Mutt Masters Dog Show & Olympics were held.

The event, which took place at the former Taft Elementary School site on SE 50th Street, wasn’t exactly what one would see at a Westminster Dog Show. In fact, it was just the opposite. Mutt Masters celebrates the everyday dog with competition categories including Tail Wag Champ, Fabulous Frisbee Catcher, Unusual Pet Trick, Most Distinguished Elder, Best Handshake, Best Dressed, Sing Off, Sleep Off, Best Shedder, and new this year, the Peanut Butter Lick.
